At Chardon Local Schools, our mission is clear: We commit to high achievement for all students. This commitment guides our decisions, shapes our priorities, and inspires the work of our educators and support personnel each day. It is also reflected in our recent designation as a Five-Star district on the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce's Local Report Card—a recognition of the collective efforts of our students, staff, families, and community. We are proud of this accomplishment, but we recognize that our work is never finished. We remain focused on continuous improvement and creating opportunities for every student to reach their full potential.
It is my honor and privilege to serve as Superintendent of Chardon Local Schools. Our district benefits from dedicated educators, talented support personnel, engaged families, a supportive community, and a Board of Education committed to student success. Together, we work to implement our Strategic Plan, strengthen teaching and learning, and ensure that our schools prepare students for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

The world our students are entering continues to evolve, and so must the education we provide. Today's graduates need a strong foundation in core academic subjects, along with the ability to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and adapt to change. Financial literacy, civic understanding, technological proficiency, and the responsible use of emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—are increasingly important. Whether students pursue college, career and technical education, military service, direct entry into the workforce, or another pathway, our responsibility is to help them graduate prepared to pursue their goals and contribute meaningfully to society.
Meeting that responsibility requires high expectations, excellent instruction, relevant learning experiences, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We strive to ensure that every student is challenged, supported, and provided with opportunities to discover their strengths, develop their talents, and prepare for life beyond graduation.
We also recognize that strong schools depend on responsible stewardship of public resources. Through careful financial planning, long-term decision-making, and strategic investment in our facilities, we are working to maintain a sound financial foundation while providing safe, supportive, and effective learning environments for our students and staff.
