Free Harmony in the Community

December 14, 2023 — Chardon High School's Free Harmony show choir hit the road this season to spread holiday cheer throughout the community.

The ensemble kicked off its community tour with the traditional tree lighting on Chardon Square on Nov. 30, the warmest in recent memory, drawing a large crowd to see the updated lighting and new Candy Cane Lane while hearing Free Harmony's festive music as the community waited for Santa and Mrs. Claus to arrive.

Free Harmony presented its 30-minute program Dec. 4-5 to Chardon Middle School student assemblies and several communication organizations and groups, including Chardon Rotary, Geauga Retired Teachers Association, Holly Hill, Heather Hill, Residence of Chardon, and Jennings at Notre Dame Village.

Performance pieces included "That Christmas Morning Feelin'", "The Holiday Season", "Christmas Valentine", What Will Santa Claus Say?", "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "Sparklejollytwinklejingley", and the group's traditional pieces of "Listen to the Music" and "Harmony".

CHS choir director Mr. Fritz Streiff stated, "The ensemble members did a wonderful job working as a team to transition from space to space throughout the busy two days."

Special thanks to Chardon bus drivers Mr. Daniel Marsh and Mrs. Karen Speck for ensuring successful transportation to and from the community events.
