December 31, 2023 — An honorary segment recognizing the dedication of Board of Education Vice President Dr. Guy Wilson and BOE President Mr. Keith Brewster to Chardon Local Schools — a combined 16 years of service — took place at the regular board meeting on December 11.
Dr. Wilson's and Mr. Brewster's current, four-year elected terms, which began on January 1, 2020, will conclude at the end of the day today.
Excerpts from the BOE Resolutions presented by Board Member Mrs. Karen Blankenship during this month's regular board meeting:
"WHEREAS, DR. WILSON and MR. BREWSTER contributed in a significant manner to the growth and improvement of Chardon Schools in terms of academic achievement, fiscal accountability and governance and demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the Chardon Board of Education and to the students and staff of the Chardon Local Schools.
WHEREAS, DR. WILSON (2012-2023) contributed to the Chardon Board of Education as its President, Vice President, Student and Staff Liaison (11 years), as well as serving on numerous committees appointed by the Superintendent.
WHEREAS, MR. BREWSTER (2020-2023) contributed to the Chardon Board of Education as its President; Vice President; Legislative Liaison to the Ohio School Boards Association; Board representative to the City of Chardon Tax Incentive Review Council; and Ohio School Boards Association Annual Conference Delegate.
WHEREAS, it is most fitting that DR. WILSON's and MR. BREWSTER's outstanding service to the community and untiring quest for excellence in our schools be recognized."
