Student Food Drive Takes Bite Out of Community Hunger

Chardon Middle School Builders Club, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Chardon, took a bite out of community hunger last month when they collected, organized, and delivered over 1,500 non-perishable food items for the Geauga Hunger Task Force. A special shoutout to the District's Maintenance department for providing a truck for the delivery!

The school offers the Builders Club for all students in grades 4-7 who are interested in serving their community and school. Members participate in community service projects and help plan fundraisers throughout the school year.

Kiwanis Secretary Heather Penrod serves as the point person for the club, while CMS faculty member Amanda Weaver is the advisor.
