1st-Grade's "I Can Count to 120" Celebration
Commemorating Student Mastery of Ohio Mathematics Learning Standard
March 12, 2024 (CHARDON, OH) — First-grade classes at Munson Elementary and Park Elementary put a new learning twist on the usual 100 Days of School celebration tradition — this month commemorating the 120th day of school to punctuate Hilltoppers' mastery of the Ohio "Count to 120" first-grade learning standard.
March 5 - Munson Elementary - with the help of parent volunteers, 1st-grade students concentrate on stacking cups into 10s, aiming for 120!
With the help of parent volunteers, the schools hosted a rotation of "120"- themed activity stations for the school day event. The gymnasiums were electric with excitement and smiles as first-graders stepped out of the classroom to a pop-up fair of activities that included:
- 120-piece LEGO® Builds
- 120 Rhyming Words
- 120 Tootsie Pop® Licks - Can you get to the center?
- 120 Sticks to Stack
- What would you do with $120?
