John Ross, CHS ‘07, embarked on the path of Enrollment after high school graduation, studying at The College of Wooster where he earned a four-year degree, having majored in Communications and minored in Economics. His collegiate education was followed by a career in marketing via organizations that are sure to ring a bell or two for all Northeast Ohio readers.

EMPLOYMENT
After college graduation, Ross specialized in sports marketing, eventually spanning each of the three professional Cleveland organizations before working in Florida for NASCAR, and ultimately returning to Ohio to take a marketing position at Cedar Point.

Ross currently serves as a Field Marketing Manager for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, assisting hotels across the country with digital marketing strategies.

CHS ENDEAVORS
During his time as a student in Chardon Schools, Ross participated in a wealth of extracurricular activities. Athletically, he was a member of the high school's 2006 regional runner-up varsity football team; a member of the 2005-06 Premiere Athletic Conference basketball championship team; and a 2005 track and field regional qualifier in the 4x800.

Music was also part of his high school experience as he embraced the opportunity to play baritone saxophone in CHS Concert Band and Jazz Band alongside his sister, Sarah Ross, CHS ‘05.

CHS MENTORS
Ross shared that he has been lucky to have great mentors along the way. He especially credits his mother Linda Ross, a retired CHS Library Media Specialist, for helping him on his career journey.

He stated, “I was so fortunate to have my mom in the high school building with me. She has always been there to guide me along the way.”

He added that he has specific positive memories at CHS of the support and guidance he received from faculty members Mr. Herner, Mrs. Ptasznik, Mr. Snyder, Mrs. Mihalek, Mr. Ricci, Mrs. Ricci, Mr. DinkoMrs. Kolcum and Ms. Lichtler.
