Community Rocks in Prepping Toppers for Totality
Donations of Eclipse Glasses Pour in for Chardon Schools!
April 6, 2024 (CHARDON, OH) — Who's ready for 3.5 to 4 minutes of totality on Monday? As Hilltopper students looked ahead to an epic day off from school on April 8 for the total solar eclipse, community generously reached out to Chardon Schools with offers of free eclipse glasses, viewers and safety tips.
Special thanks to the following for their top-notch thoughtfulness:
- FREE eclipse viewers for all our schools + accompanying safety tips packets for the Total Solar Eclipse!
- 300 FREE pairs of eclipses glasses!
All five of our school principals were FAST ON THE KEYBOARD to respond to our offer from GPD with Chardon Early Learning Center principal Andrea Ryan landing first. Upon delivery by GPD Marketing Coordinator Sandy Ward to the school on April 4, we brought in a few lucky Tiny Toppers for a photo op, giving them an opportunity to "test-drive" the glasses with Mrs. Ryan.
Judge John Eklund - Eleventh District Court of Appeals / Court's Presiding and Administrative Judge
- FREE eclipse glasses for every student at Munson Elementary!
All items were distributed to students in time for the three-day weekend. Hilltoppers are encouraged to review the safety tips with parents/guardians and don their eclipse glasses and viewers on Monday.
Have a safe and out-of-this world experience!
The next total solar eclipse in Ohio will be in... 2099!
