CHARDON, OH (February 23, 2024) — The latest adventure of Chardon High School's Model United Nations was the CLEIMUN24 (Cleveland International MUN) three-day conference, Feb. 14-16, that hosted over 300 delegates at St. Edwards High School in Lakewood, OH. Twenty-five* Hilltoppers represented CHS, passing several resolutions and leading many coalitions of delegates from different schools.

This year's international conference theme was The Interaction of Developing Technology and Global Affairs. Delegates explored how technologies like AI, social media, and automation influence international relations.

ABOUT MUN
Hosted by the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, MUN is an educational simulation of the United Nations wherein students serve in the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real-world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country.

Through MUN, Chardon students become more engaged in and knowledgeable of international political issues while developing their communication, deliberation, leadership, and debate skills. Many different kinds of talents can be developed via participation in MUN conferences - including such skills as teamwork, expository and persuasive writing and negotiation that are important for personal development and future success.
