Professional Development Day — Feb. 16

March 4, 2024 (CHARDON, OH) — The Chardon Schools Professional Development Day on Feb. 16 hosted an agenda filled with new learning opportunities for staff.  At CHS, the lineup included introductory sessions to the Chardon Creativity Center (C3) makerspace.

C3 is a joint partnership with Geauga County Public Library. The makerspace, which opened in fall 2023 is located at the east end of the CHS campus. C3 is open to Chardon Schools classes during school hours and, by sign-up only, to GCPL patrons in the after-school / evening hours.

Special thank you to GCPL's technology trainer Mary Crotty and information technology manager Mike Pope for their time and expertise in guiding groups of CHS faculty through the introduction.

Next up, CHS faculty will pursue full C3 training through GCPL resources.

Several faculty members, including engineering teacher Jason Hall, art teacher Erik Hauber and business teacher and Academic Decathlon coach Al Herner, are fully trained at the time of this writing and have been readily providing class opportunities for students.

Chardon Schools looks forward to sharing more Cglimpses as the program's usage continues to evolve!
