Kindergarten Parent/Guardian Orientation
IMPORTANT NOTES:
NO Auto-Enroll for Pre-K & KDG
If you have a student currently enrolled at the Chardon Early Learning Center and they will continue in Pre-K OR transition to Kindergarten in 2024-25, you must complete the enrollment process to secure a spot in the classroom for the new school year.
Student Age for Kindergarten
Your incoming Kindergarten student must be five (5) years of age on or before August 1, 2024 to attend Kindergarten in the 2024-25 school year.
Kindergarten Student Residing in the District
For Kindergarten, the Feb. 1st, registration opening day pertains to students who reside in the Chardon Local School District.
After Kindergarten, Will I Need to Re-Enroll My Student Every Year?
Provided that your student continues to reside in the Chardon Local School District, their Kindergarten registration serves as a one-time enrollment process for grade levels K-12.
Kindergarten Student NOT Residing in the District
The 2024-25 Open Enrollment application window for out-of-district Kindergarteners opens on a later date (usually March) and will only be open for a limited timeframe (typically 30 days). That application window is TBA on the Registration page. Note that an application does not guarantee placement in a classroom. Confirmation of placement occurs at a later time.
