September 5, 2023 — In keeping with annual tradition, Chardon Schools was well represented at The Great Geauga County Fair Aug. 31 - Sept. 4. In addition to the Hilltopper Marching Band dazzling the main grandstand crowd via a live performance on Sept. 3, the District was a participant in the School Exhibit for all five Fair days in the fairgrounds' educational building.

Chardon Crescendo Club posted on its social media page on Sept. 3, "The marching band, Topperettes, and majorette did an excellent job representing Chardon High School at the Geauga Fair Band-o-Rama! The show sounded great and the crowd was terrific. There’s nothing like playing for stands full of band parents!"

Visitors to the booth had the opportunity to take a break from the late summer heat and peruse photos of Hilltopper excellence and review take-home District publications, including the Quality Profile and Success Plan, plus free Hilltopper carabiners.

Additionally, the School Exhibit's art gallery showcased creations from students in grades 6-8.

Much gratitude to the Geauga Retired Teacher's Association for hosting the School Exhibits each year.

Geauga County Retired Teachers Association President Wally Waldbauer stated in a Sept. 5 email to Geauga schools, "The school district booths and the art display were well received at the 2023 Great Geauga County Fair. Thank you for your help in making the education building a success. Each day there were many favorable comments about the art and school displays. Many people commented about the artwork and what great artists we have in our schools.

In Beyond the Hilltop news, Chardon Schools also takes GREAT PRIDE in the many talented Hilltopper who participated and competed in the Fair via 4-H and more!
