K-12 Opportunity: Lead the Pledge at a Board Meeting

March 8, 2023 — Chardon Schools is seeking K-12 student volunteers to continue a tradition of leading the Pledge of Allegiance at upcoming calendar year 2023 board meetings. This tradition began in early 2022 with one student each month having the opportunity to see the board room, meet the Superintendent and Board President, and lead all in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the regular board meeting.

How it Works:

  • Parent/guardian completes and submits the following Pledge of Allegiance Contest Form to enter their K-12 student(s) into the contest. Submit early to have a better chance of being drawn throughout the year!
  • District randomly draws one entry each month, regularly rotating among the schools.

  • Parent/guardian is notified of winning entry one week in advance of the meeting with the District requesting confirmation of attendance.

  • Parent/guardian and student(s) arrive to specified meeting no later than 6:20PM.

  • Board meeting begins promptly at 6:30PM with the Pledge occurring soon thereafter.

  • Student leads all in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.

  • Board President presents a certificate of leadership recognition to the student.

  • Family and student are welcome to stay for the entirety of the meeting but are equally welcome to depart at this time. We understand busy family schedules!
