August 26, 2023 — A warm welcome to the District's 2023-24 student liaisons to the Board of Education — Chardon High School seniors Jennifer Kogovsek and Madison Primc. Both Jen and Madison are serving on the 2023-24 CHS Executive Student Council as Lead Officers of Community Engagement, which includes the role of student liaison to the BOE.

The two seniors report they are looking forward to sharing what CHS students are up to through school projects, athletics and clubs/extracurriculars.
As is Chardon Schools tradition for student liaisons to the BOE, Jen and Madison will collaborate on a slideshow each month and present it in-person to the Board. The Aug. 21 regular board meeting marked their debut presentation.

CHS principal Doug Murray stated in an Aug. 22 email to the Kogovsek and Primc families, "I told Jen and Madison that the approach, presentation, delivery, and poise were so on point....We have some extraordinary leaders! They certainly #Topper'dUp."
In addition to Executive Student Council, Jen’s involvement at CHS includes National Honor Society Officer, Topperettes (football game dance team), Envirothon Leader, and CHS Drama Crew Member, while Madison is active as a National Honor Society Member, Lead Senior Mentor, Topperette, Model United Nations Member, and CHS Drama Crew Member. Just to name a few!
Additionally, both students were among five CHS delegates selected earlier this year for Buckeye Girls State 2023, an elite program through which student delegates learn — together with rising senior delegates from other Ohio schools — about duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of good citizenship and conduct a state and local government simulation.
As the two liaisons look ahead to the Chardon “4E’s” and high school graduation this spring, each plans to “E”nroll in college. Jen is considering areas of study at this time, while Madison intends to major in either chemistry or neurobiology, on a pre-med track.
