Science Project - "Cultivating with Compost"

Natasha was recognized by the Chardon BOE for advancing from a Superior rating at the Ohio Academy of Science District 5 Science Day Fair this spring to the OAS STATE Science Day 2023 where she earned high praise from judges for her "Cultivating with Compost" science project.

Through this project, Natasha tested whether compost affects seed germination and learned that the plants she grew with the most compost were the plants with the largest average height. She stated that she believes that more compost boosts such nutrients as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, making the plants grow taller than those with less compost.

Thousands of Ohio students compete annually in OAS District Science Days for the opportunity to attend OAS State Science Day.

WAY TO GO Natasha on your District Superior rating and achieving this PRESTIGIOUS STATE opportunity!

ADDISON SEESE

Auburn Career Center  - Teaching Professions Pathway student
Author of "Wonderful Animals of the World"

The Chardon BOE recognized Addison for earning 4th place in the K-3 Children's Literature category in the Educators Rising Ohio 32nd Annual STATE Conference this spring for penning "Wonderful Animals of the World", an achievement that qualified her, together with the book's student illustrator, for the Educators Rising 2023 NATIONAL Conference this summer.

The Seese family reports that Addison had a "blast" at the National event and was pleased to have the experience and opportunity.

With graduation on the horizon (spring '24!) - Addison shared with us that her career interests include both theater and education with hopes to be able to integrate the two in her future pursuits.

CONGRATS and BEST WISHES, Addison!
