7th Grade End of Year Information!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We still have so many fun things planned for the next two weeks. We've tried to include everything here in one place, so please read through carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

Wed. 5/18-20:  CHICAGO FIELD TRIP:  Students need to be at school at 6:00 am on Wednesday morning. Please have a hearty brown-bag lunch--we will not eat dinner until 6:30 pm Chicago time.  A more detailed email was sent home regarding all of the needs for this trip. Please check the weather the night before and pack accordingly!

Wed. 5/18:  ZOO FIELD TRIP:  Students need to pack a brown-bag lunch.

Thurs. 5/19:  GOODTIME FIELD TRIP: Students need to pack a brown-bag lunch. They can also bring money to buy snacks and drinks on the boat.

Wed. 5/25:  RED OAK FIELD TRIP for team 7A:  This is the reschedule for the canceled trip.  Students need to pack a brown-bag lunch.  We will send another email regarding this the day before with clothing reminders.

Thurs. 5/26:  BREAKFAST:  We will be serving students a pancake and eggs breakfast.  PTO will be providing scrambled eggs, sausage, and helping us make pancakes.  Please refer to THIS Sign-Up Genius to donate needed items.

After breakfast, students will view a year-in-review video, draw prizes for the raffle, and take a group class photo before heading to the clapout.

RAFFLE:  Linked HERE is a sampling of what we have collected so far.  As of right now, we have 68 prizes organized and still have more to assemble.  We will be adding some 2-liters of pop and candy (yes, we will get them sugared up for you so you can send them outside!). We will continue to take donations up to Wednesday when students will view the prizes.  Thursday morning during the breakfast, they will have time to drop their tickets in the bags for the prizes they want, and before the clap-out, we will draw prizes.  It may be a good idea for students to bring an EMPTY backpack to school!

CLAPOUT:  11:00 am.  Parents and families are welcome to line the top of the Alcan driveway (closest to the high school) around 10:55 am (you can park in the CHS student lot).  Students in grades 4-6 will be lining the lower portion of the alcan, and CHS faculty and staff will be lining the grassy area in front of the high school.  We will "clap out" our 7th graders as they make their final walk out of CMS into the waiting hands of the high school faculty where they will be greeted with remarks by Mr. Murray on the CHS front lawn.  All 7th grade students are dismissed for the day at this time, approximately 11:30am.  If you would like your child to stay at school all day, please e-mail timothy.velotta@chardonschools.org and we will make appropriate arrangements.

PTO has arranged for the iScream Truck to be at Chardon High School at 11:15am - a free treat will be available for 7th graders, and families are welcome to purchase items!
