February 25, 2022 — In recent weeks there has been community discussion concerning the status of the district’s current building/grade level configuration. At its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, the Board of Education voted to affirm the current grade level configuration of our schools.

During the meeting, members of our staff presented a report to the Board on the impact of the current grade level structure on our students and staff, including information on student achievement and opportunities for students under the current structure.

Previously, additional information was presented by the district  — at the October 2021 regular board meeting — concerning enrollment and cost savings from the reconfiguration model.  You may review that document at the following link:

Superintendent Michael Hanlon stated: "It is important to note that our district grade level configuration remains a work in progress, and we will continue to evaluate and make adjustments to maximize our district’s mission of high achievement for all students, where learning is our most important work."
