Each month throughout the school year, Partners in Education recognizes one Ohio K-12 student from each of the Ohio Lottery's nine geographic regions. To be eligible, students must exhibit academic achievement, community involvement, citizenship and leadership in and out of the classroom.
Rachael was nominated for the award by CMS science teacher Mrs. Jackie Brown who describes the Hilltopper student as "always wearing a smile on her face and treating all of her classmates and teachers with kindness and respect".
"She is patient and kind with a student in her class who has needs other than those of a typical seventh-grade student," added Mrs. Brown. "When we were moving seats, she asked to stay at her seat because she likes helping this classmate. This classmate has also told me that Rachael is very nice, and they make a good team."
As an April 2022 award recipient, Rachael received a gift bag from the program with Partners in Education merchandise, a t-shirt, a $75 Visa gift card, and Cleveland Museum of Natural History passes.
Way to go, Rachael!
