CMS Return to Learning Plan - 2020
Parents / guardians:

We hope you and your family continue to be healthy and enjoying the beautiful summer weather!  The Chardon Local School District has been in regular communication and sharing the district-wide information.  All district-wide information can be found on the district Return to Learning page on the website.

At CMS we have put together THIS DOCUMENT to answer some of your CMS-specific questions.  Please review the information as a family and help your child(ren) begin to plan for the school year.  Throughout the month of August, we will share videos and additional information to help students and parents visualize the implementation of our building-specific procedures.

We know that one of the biggest questions families have is "what district-group is my family?"  This information will be shared next week after the optional 100% virtual sign-up period is closed.

We would also like to remind all parents that the CMS website is loaded with information for families, including 2020 Summer Reading InformationSchool Supply ListsNew-4th Grade and New-to-Chardon Family Information, etc.  This information has been previously e-mailed to families and students, but whatever is e-mailed is always posted on the website so checking here is a great way to be reminded of information!

In addition, last year, students and parents had been asked to be sure all students are enrolled in their grade-level Google classroom, and students have received multiple "invites" directly in their e-mails to do so.  Please help to make sure your child is enrolled in these classrooms:

  • 4th grade:  5mukdal
  • 5th grade:  t3yedfg
  • 6th grade:  c56ivya
  • 7th grade:  dwzva6d

Just a reminder that we are planning for students to return to school beginning on August 31, 2020.  Much will likely change by that time - we will continue to communicate regularly if these changes impact our Middle School Return to Learning plan, and appreciate your continued support and understanding as we strive to meet your children's educational and social-emotional needs while minimizing the risk to our students, staff and families.

Sincerely,

Timothy Velotta, CMS Principal
