January 27, 2021 -- The safety and security of students, staff and community is our highest priority in Chardon Schools. As I am certain you are aware, the COVID-19 vaccination process continues to roll out across Geauga County. Under Phase 1b of the vaccination roll-out, all Geauga County school districts and non-public schools have been working closely with Geauga County Health Commissioner, Thomas Quade, to develop a vaccination schedule for adults working in school settings.
The Chardon Local School District and St. Mary’s School will be conducting a vaccination clinic for all adults working in the school setting on February 5, 2021, between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Please be advised that school personnel will be participating in the vaccination clinic throughout the day. School administrators have worked collaboratively to develop a schedule that will permit us to complete the administration of the vaccine without significant disruption to the in-person school schedule on that date.
One important change is that Chardon High School will be shifting its typical virtual day for that week from Wednesday to Friday in order to accommodate the vaccination process. Mr. Murray will share detailed information concerning the schedule for next week. All other schools will follow their normal schedule. We will repeat this vaccination schedule approximately four weeks later to accommodate the administration of the second dose.
