Overnight Trip Student Fees

Parents / Guardians - as you have hopefully been working and successfully receiving refunds from your banks and credit card companies regarding the overnight trips, we have continued to work with vendors to finalize payments and actual costs related to these experiences for our students.  As of, Friday, 6/29/18, the final costs have been added to your child's student fees account (Chicago - $184.69;  Washington DC - $196).  As we continue to work with necessary legal entities related to the Discovery Tours situation, it is imperative that our records align with what the Prosecutors and Bankruptcy Attorneys will find in their records.  As was discussed at the parent meetings, if you have yet to be successful in receiving monies back, the Board of Education is prepared to assist in covering those costs in hopes of future recovery through insurance claims or legal channels.

If you received a full refund, all you need to do is log in to Payschools to pay the balance.  As you were originally prepared to pay nearly $200 more per trip than our current costs, we strongly ask that you consider making an additional donation to help off-set the costs to the district, or to fund scholarships for students in need.  There is an option in Payschools to make this donation privately; or, a check can be sent to CMS payable to Chardon Local Schools with "scholarships" on the memo line to be earmarked specifically for this cause.

If you have not received a full refund at this time, please click HERE to complete a form updating us on your progress.  Beginning the week of July 16, you will be contacted by Mr. Tomco or Mr. Velotta to talk through the specifics and final steps to remove the charge from your child's account.  This will include a conversation of steps you have taken thus far and signing and returning a form to document this standing.  Please note that we will not be in the office the next few weeks and will be unable to answer specific questions, but we will contact you upon our return to the office in mid-July.
