PTO Updates

CMS PTO Trunk or Treat Event - THIS WEEKEND!

PTO is excited to invite all CMS families to our Trunk or Treat event at the Mayfield Rd. Drive-in on 10/20 at 6:30pm.  Click HERE for flier with more information!

Conference Meals

During parent-teacher conferences, teachers are at the school for long hours. To show our appreciation we would like to provide them with one evening of a potluck style meal. We are asking that you donate either part of the main dish, a side, or a dessert for the evening.  We also need three to five people for setup and teardown. We very much appreciate your helping us show the teachers how much they mean to us and are appreciated.

On Thursday, November 6th we are asking for donations for a successful CASSEROLE NIGHT.  We are asking for your favorite recipe casserole, bread and the dessert of your choice.

***Please have all donations delivered to the middle school by 3pm on this day***

We also need 3 or more people for set up and tear down.  Set up will take place at 3pm and tear down starts at 7:30.  Please click HERE to sign-up to help or donate!

Book Fair

CMS Book Fair is NEXT WEEK (10/21 - 10/25).  Please click HERE for an informational letter regarding new payment options.  Click HERE to volunteer time during sales!

CMS Updates

Locks / lockers

Many students have gotten in to the bad habit of not using their locks / lockers.  Please remind your child that they must use a CMS-issued lock on their lockers, and to always lock-up their belongings!

Bus Passes

Please remember that the majority of our buses are routed to be near full capacity on their routes.  Due to this, we do not issue bus passes at CMS. If a child is to be going home with a friend, please arrange for the child to be a car-rider that day (and don’t forget to write them a note in their assignment notebook to remind them!).

Ski Club

CMS will be sponsoring 2 ski clubs this year:  Friday night, or  Saturday from 10-2 (click for flier).  Get out and enjoy the snow!

Wrestling Sign-Up

Practices for the CMS wrestling team will be held Monday - Friday, 3:30 - 5:15pm at CMS.  The season runs November 15, 2019 - February 1, 2020. Anyone interested in learning more should contact Coach Wheatley:  [email protected].  To register, sign-up through final forms:  https://chardon-oh.finalforms.com/

Conference Scheduling

CMS fall parent/teacher conferences are right around the corner, scheduled to be held on 10/22, 10/28 and 11/6.  Teachers will hold individual conferences with interested parents, discussing their specific classes. Parents are welcome to sign-up for conferences with any or all of your child’s teachers.  If you have already met with or have established lines of communication with your child’s teachers, a parent may decide that this conference is not necessary at this time. Please know that we are happy to meet with parents at any time.

This year, all CLSD schools are using an on-line scheduling program, PTC Fast, to schedule conferences.  (Same program CHS has used for years, and 2nd year at CMS). Please click HERE to establish your account and to finalize the date and time of your meeting.  When you arrive the day of conferences there will be a list by each entrance to help you find the teachers’ assigned meeting locations.

CMS Unity Day

The after school drama club will present a special mini-musical, Bullies Anonymous, in two performances open to the public at Geauga Theater on Oct. 17 at 6:30 and Oct. 19 at 2 pm.

They will also hold a UNITY DAY event at CMS on October 23, 2019. In addition to the performances of Bullies Anonymous for each grade level (4-7), plans are underway for a UNITY fair with a variety of interactive centers for post-show student involvement. To raise awareness of UNITY DAY throughout the Chardon community, there will be signs and posters, orange ribbons, with book markers and pencils given away at retailers who are willing to participate.

Click HERE for a flier with more information, and watch for future e-mails requesting volunteers to help make the day of learning a success!  PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER AT A STATION DURING THE UNITY DAY EVENT!
