Dear Parents/Guardians and Community Members,
Welcome to the Chardon Local School District website. This site is designed to provide helpful information to parents, students, employees, and applicants and to better inform all visitors about our District and our many strengths and new opportunities. You will discover facts and information about academic programs, day-to-day operations, our Board of Education, and a great deal of other information. Most importantly, I hope you will sense our genuine commitment to providing the best education possible for every child.
It is my honor and privilege to serve the Chardon Local School District as Superintendent of Schools. The outstanding educators and support personnel in our school district focus their energies each day on implementing our STRATEGIC PLAN in order to maximize opportunities for our students.

If you visit one of our schools, you will find that schools today are far more rigorous than they were twenty or thirty years ago. Academically, more is demanded of our students every day in order to ensure that they are college and career ready and prepared to be productive citizens.
With the ever-changing nature of the world and workforce, not only must today’s graduates be proficient in core academic subjects, they need to be critical thinkers, problem solvers and effective communicators. They need global awareness, financial, economic and civic literacy. These are 21st Century Skills that are in demand for all graduates, no matter what their future holds. Our top priority is to continue to respond effectively to these changes to ensure that all students are learning at higher levels and gaining the skills they will need to compete in an economy that runs on information and demands creativity and innovation.
We are proud of our work in Chardon Local Schools where we have partnered with our staff, community and the Board of Education to achieve a stable fiscal position in our district for the foreseeable future. In addition, we have undertaken an aggressive capital improvement campaign to address issues in our school facilities.
